I am writing to ask you to support the removal alternative in WisDOT’s Lake Interchange Study. Removal is the best choice for Milwaukee and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reconnect downtown, the Third Ward, the Menomonee Valley, and the lakefront while creating new opportunities for housing, economic development, and stronger connections between communities.

Rebuilding an elevated freeway would preserve an outdated barrier through the heart of our city and limit Milwaukee’s future potential. The removal alternative allows us to invest in a more connected, vibrant, and equitable city with new housing options, economic opportunity, and a corridor shaped by the community’s vision for the future.
